Okay I am listening to takes of recordings I've made before I do more today. Anyway, I must gush about how I saw the Boston Lyric Opera perform Rossini's Barber of Seville. And I saw it for free. (Being a music student in Boston is the best thing ever.)

IT WAS AMAZING, HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

It is an opera buffa, meaning it's supposed to be funny. And holy shit, it was hilarious. The guy playing Bartolo was perfect; he really hammed it up, and when he imitated Rosina by singing in falsetto, I was practically dying. Speaking of Rosina, the woman who played her was amazing. She had a gorgeous voice. Figaro and Almaviva were amazing as well. And Basilio had a gorgeous bass voice.

Okay I won't gush too much since nobody knows what I'm talking about. But it was amazing and I loved it and ghasdhghasdghds

Then, on Saturday night, at Symphony Hall (where the BSO usually performs), I saw "Distant Worlds," a Final Fantasy orchestra concert. Now, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I'll give a more in-depth review here since more people on my f-list will know what I'm talking about than for Barber of Seville.
